“Seagull in Its Nest” Rug – Monochrome Edition (Maria Prymachenko, 1961)
This designer rug by Shishka Project, created in collaboration with designer Julia Kononenko, is based on “Seagull in Its Nest” (1961) by Maria Prymachenko, presented in a monochrome interpretation.
In this version, the composition is reduced to the bird alone, removing surrounding elements to focus entirely on its form. The black-and-white palette emphasizes the graphic quality, rhythm of lines, and expressive silhouette, offering a new perspective on Prymachenko’s work.
The reinterpretation by Julia Kononenko translates the decorative image into a more restrained and contemporary visual language, while preserving its symbolic depth and character.
The rug is part of an official collaboration with the Maria Prymachenko Family Foundation and belongs to a limited series that reimagines the artist’s work through contemporary collectible design.
The total edition is limited to 100 pieces (across all available sizes).
Each rug is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, indicating the date of production and an individual edition number.
Positioned at the intersection of art and design, the rug functions as a collectible art object — adding graphic clarity and refined character to contemporary interiors.
