“Elephant” Rug – Poetic Fragment (Maria Prymachenko, 1937)

This designer rug by Shishka Project, created in collaboration with designer Julia Kononenko, is based on the painting “Elephant” (1937) by Maria Prymachenko.

The composition focuses on a fragment of the image — the elephant’s head — combined with floral elements reinterpreted in Prymachenko’s distinctive style. The combination of figurative detail and decorative florals creates a more intimate and poetic composition, characterized by softness, emotion, and ornamental richness.

This interpretation offers a new way of engaging with the original work — through detail, rhythm, and a fresh perspective on the composition.

The rug is part of an official collaboration with the Maria Prymachenko Family Foundation and belongs to a limited series that translates the artist’s work into contemporary collectible design.

The total edition is limited to 100 pieces (across all available sizes).

Each rug is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, indicating the date of production and an individual edition number.
