“Elephant” Rug – Archetype Edition (Maria Prymachenko, 1937)
This designer rug by Shishka Project, created in collaboration with designer Julia Kononenko, is based on the painting “Elephant” (1937) by Maria Prymachenko.
In this interpretation, the image of the elephant is transformed into a rhythmic ornamental pattern that extends across the entire surface of the rug. Visually, it resembles the skin of a fantastical creature — a natural pattern defined by form, color, and repetition.
This approach shifts the figurative image into abstraction while preserving the energy and character of the original work.
The rug is part of an official collaboration with the Maria Prymachenko Family Foundation and belongs to a limited series that translates the artist’s work into contemporary collectible design.
The total edition is limited to 100 pieces (across all available sizes).
Each rug is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, indicating the date of production and an individual edition number.
Positioned at the intersection of art and design, the rug functions as a collectible art object — adding graphic rhythm and a unique narrative to contemporary interiors.
