Black Beast — Fragment of Habitat Rug (Maria Prymachenko, 1936)

This rug is based on Maria Prymachenko’s painting “Black Beast,” but shifts the focus from the creature itself to the environment it inhabits.

Individual elements — plants, shapes, and decorative symbols — become independent actors, forming a new visual field. Rather than a direct reproduction, this piece explores the original composition from within, breaking it into fragments.

The rug is created in official collaboration with the Maria Prymachenko Family Foundation and belongs to a limited edition series.
